Our first ever Design Competition Collection is here! Submissions began late October 2022 across 2 categories- Ring Design & Pendant Design. The competition was tough, the talent in the submissions was obvious and choosing the winning pieces was no easy task! We ended up choosing 2 winners from each category. This is Meghan Clarke's winning ring submission the Memento Mori Ring. 

Meghan's design was incredibly rewarding to bring to life. Using a 3d mold of her hourglass sketch onto the rectangle face of the signet and racessing the roses on the ring shoulders brought depth to the piece. 

"Momento Mori, the literal translation of the Latin phrase is ‘Remember that you must die’, to me as an artist, it was a way to connect to the familiar trope in visual arts, and make it personal at the same time. Using the representations of the saying amongst artists, (eg; skulls, hourglasses and wilting flowers) and spinning it in a way that anyone can relate, all of us in the end understanding that we ‘remember that you must die’ not as a dark fact, but something that brings us together."
